Our ability to do a good job for you and your client depends on our ability to prepare in advance of the hearing. Kindly provide us with all documents and information listed in "Helpful Hints" section.

Try to contact us as soon as you know you will need our help. Waiting until the last minute to call on the day before the hearing limits our access to available contract attorneys who may have already accepted another appointment from another service on the same day.

Always leave and a good after hours telephone number on which our staff or the appearing attorney can contact you if they need clarification and/or additional information for the appearance.

You should be careful when assigning appearances in which court rules specially require the presence of the trial attorney, or in which the attorney of record has specifically been ordered to appear in persons. Be aware that sanctions may result if you do not personally appear.

It is never a good idea to withhold damaging critical information about the appearance from us and the appearing attorney. We are contract attorneys, not magicians. Let us have the benefits of bad news and we can try to put it in the best light.

If possible, especially if we will be meeting your clients that we are appearing in your stead.

Be careful in selecting a contract attorney to do your clients’ appearances. You may think that you need only a warm body, but judges easily recognize headless attorneys and they don’t exactly give them first class treatment.

If you haven’t received a confirmation within 24 hours of setting of the appearance, please give us a call. There may have been a glitch, and make sure we have your appearance request.
